Magaly “Gally” Jiménez Baca is a proud Chicana and Nuevo Mexicana, born and raised in the historic Martínez Town barrio of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Surrounded by the neighborhood’s deep history and nearby cemeteries, she grew up with a strong connection to memory, culture, and tradition. These early experiences shaped her interest in Chicana/o identity, Mexican American traditions, mental health, nature, and community.

She currently serves as an Art and History Curatorial Assistant at the Albuquerque Museum, where she bridges her love for art and history with her community roots. Gally is also a published poet, weaving cultural pride into her writing, style, and artistic expression. Through artwork, poetry, and fashion, she continues to honor the richness of her identity and nurture a deep appreciation for nostalgia.
